ANU Chaplaincy Resources/ Arabic Classes
Dear Member We hope that you are doing well and would like to inform you about the news we think you should be aware of. ANU Chaplaincy Resources There is a new poster placed in the small room that brothers and sisters use for the salat at the Chaplaincy. It is a poster of the al-Asma' ul-Husna (the 99 most comenly/beautiful names of Allah encircling the Ka'bah). This is to function as the mihrab - the direction to Mekka al-Mukarramah. In addition there are several reference works (the property of Arto Avakian) made available for reference to all ANUMA members both in hardcopy as well as CD-Rom, CD and audiocassettes. They include:
- al Mushaf al-murattal (the complete Holy Qur'an in CD-Rom by 2 renowned reciters (Abd-alBaset Abd-Samad and al-Minshawi).
- There are also selected passages on CD and audio casettes
- the complete Sahih al-Bukhari (in 2 CD-Roms)
- the only abridged dictionary of the terms that occur in Bukhari and Muslim compendia of the Hadith (hardcopy)
- the complete concordance (al-Mu'jam al-mufahras li-alfaz il-Qur'an al-karim) in hardcopy
- the complete reference work in CD-Rom on the Holy Qur'an that includes the I'jaz, tafsir, tartil, translations of the meaning in English (Yusuf Ali), German and French and also many other aspects of the Qur'anic sciences

there is also an extensive collection of books and dictionaries on Arabic grammar and language The motivation is to encourage study, meditation and meaningful social interaction among Muslims and their friends from outside the fold of Islam, who want to make the ANU Chaplaincy an integral and essential part of the university campus and community.
