Best Regards ANUMA | 2008 Fulbright Scholarships 7 June, 2007 By Anthony Mason | | Applications are now open for the 2008 Fulbright Scholarships. As the largest and one of the most prestigious educational scholarship programs in the world, Fulbright provides unique opportunities for Australians to build long term research collaboration and linkages with US universities. Valued at up to $A40,000, Fulbright scholarships are open to Australian citizens to undertake research or study in the US for 3–12 months. Scholarships can be started between 1 July 2008 and 30 June 2009. Applications are open to Postgraduates (to do research related to their Australian PhD. or enrol in a US degree), Postdoctoral, Professional and Senior Scholars from any field of study. Applicants from Queensland, Tasmania and Western Australia are encouraged to consider the new state specific Fulbright Scholarships that have now been established. | Short Story Competition 1 June, 2007 By Prof. Penny Oakes, Dean of Students | | In conjunction with ANU, the Uni Pub Inc. is proud to announce a short story competition open to all students enrolled at ANU. First prize is $6,000 and the second prize is $2,000. The story may be up to 6,000 words and on any topic. The judges will select 10 finalists who will be invited to attend the presentation at the Uni Pub in the last week of November 2007, where the first and second prize winners will be announced. Entries close 30 September 2007.
